[please apply online] General Summary:

This position combines technical knowledge with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products. Key point of contact for clients and provide both pre- and post-sales support. Work regularly with other members of the sales team as well as R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality departments to communicate the requirements between APP and the customer. They will be responsible for managing and following up on leads, customer evaluations and any prototyping processes. Travel, based on APP needs, to support at tradeshows and/or customer visits.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Technical or Business Field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a sales support role for a technical/engineered product where customer requirements needed to be translated into custom products

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with customer management software such as ACT!, Salesforce, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MiniTab
  • Ability to present technical and costing data to clients
  • Strong oral and written communication skills necessary to work across all levels of the organization and the clients organization
  • Strong commitment to customer advocacy and exceptional customer service
  • Be viewed as a representative and ambassador of the organization by clients, suppliers, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Locate and scope new clients who might benefit from company products or services
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients by understanding their needs and recommending solutions
  • Calculate and administer client quotations
  • Negotiate contract terms to meet both client and company needs
  • Educate clients on APPs capabilities
  • Provide technical assistance from initial communication, through sales process, and for the life of the client products
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Make technical presentations on how APP can bring solutions to the clients
  • Communicate with other members of the sales team, including Rep Agencies, and other technical experts
  • Manage and track: quotes, sample requests, pricing and contracts with customers.
  • Manage sales leads including qualification and the follow up of leads.
  • Generate periodic reports as requested to analyze sales activities, trends, and forecasts
  • Travel to clients to solve issues
  • Manage sales and customer projects as requested
  • Provide R&D Engineering support to the team internally based on customers needs
  • Make necessary Engineering calculations to support product selection/recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Follow the standards of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 International Standards
